That said, a new season is a new season after all, so there are some exciting new additions to check out nonetheless. Season 8 may have more changes over time like Season 7 also did, but we will have to wait and see about it for now. It’s kind of sad how limited the Fortnite Season 8 map changes are this season with only a few new areas, most of which are not that noteworthy, and the bulk of the changes coming from the return of the monster enemies that players can take on.
Much like Season 7 before it, the new season of battle royale is devoid of most major changes that we have come to expect from the standard seasons in Fortnite, especially in Chapter 2. However, in all honesty, the Fortnite Season 8 map changes are quite underwhelming. This new map is an exciting one since it marks the first real return of the cubes on the island in a very long time and what’s to come next after the alien invasion. With the explosion of the mothership and the release of cubes across the island, the Fortnite Season 8 map is here. That event was a wild one, showcasing players joining together to take down the alien mothership, which resulted in the map we have now. The Fortnite Season 8 map is now available in the battle royale game after the recent Operation Sky Fire live event that finished off Season 7. Given how many map changes there are with this update, a couple extra ones could have been easily overlooked.Fortnite Season 8 Map Changes Are Honestly Sad A fork and a knife cutout has been added into the land to the northwest of Fatal Fields. Pieces of the temple can be found scattered around the west side of the volcano. The houses located to the southwest of Retail Row have been redesigned. These new Expedition Outposts are hidden in the forest between Lazy Lagoon and Sunny Steps. This new Expedition Outpost is hidden in the forests between Lazy Lagoon and Sunny Steps. This hot spring is located northeast of Lazy Lagoon. The houses south of Haunted Hills have been redesigned. The mountain with the RV crown now has a face.
Some vehicles have been redecorated to match this season's theme. This abandoned Expedition Outpost is located north of Lazy Lagoon. Here's some honorable mentions that don't quite qualify under a specific location's change. Two new animal structures have been added to the map - one being a pig (next to Lucky Landing) and the other being a rabbit (next to Snobby Shores). Pirate Camps have popped up around the map in a variety of locations, most being locations that were once relatively barren. The house in Salty Springs that was commonly referred to as the "broken house" has been redesigned with a much more quaint look. The Block has been relocated and can now be found where the motel once was. The building in Tilted Towers that has continuously been destroyed and rebuilt has been reconstructed once again (only a day after its catastrophe, this time). The volcano spews out a lake of lava that flows into the tunnel that was once next to Tomato Temple. In the base of the volcano, you can find another throne, presumably belonging to The Prisoner. The volcano is a pretty hard landmark to miss, lying in between where Tomato Temple and Wailing Woods once were. Sunny Steps can be found on the northeast side of the map, around where The Block originally was located. Outside of the ship dock, you can find heavily forested areas surrounding the rest of the lagoon.
Lazy Lagoon can be found where Lazy Links once existed. If any map changes go unnoticed & aren't included in this article, let us know! Lazy Lagoon The Block's location was also moved to where the motel previously was (east of Junk Junction). With Season 8's arrival, we also see the arrival of a wide variety of map changes, such as the addition of new pirate forts scattered around the map as well as the introduction of two new POIs Lazy Lagoon (replacing Lazy Links) and Sunny Steps (replacing Wailing Woods), both of which can be found at the northeast side of the map.
